In Shingo Sato's Advanced Draping, participants will learn Shingo Sato's signature Transformational Reconstruction (TR) technique, which allows designers to create innovative and complex designs with ease. Students will work with fabric and mannequins to create their own unique designs. With Sato's guidance, they will learn how to create dynamic pleats, folds, and drapes that add dimension and depth to their designs. Learning Outcomes
  • Prepare fabric and key points of measurement in accordance of draping technique.
  • Develop experimental silhouettes in creative moulage on a body form with principles of draping and through advance techniques.
  • Analyse proportion and balance through draping.
  • Analyse how textile will change the result of the garment in proportion and look.
  • Deepen knowledge of draping and 3-Dimensional creativity.
Certificate Issuance

Upon successfully completing the course, a student will be awarded the Certificate of Completion Advance Draping by TaF.tc.

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

Course fee funding eligibility : SCs and PRs (Self-sponsored individuals must be at least 21 years old)

 and 3

GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR WSQ Advanced Certificate OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

 and 4

All students must also be competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: a.Basic Draping OR b. Basic Drafting and Sewing OR c. Drafting and Sewing: Tops OR Drafting and Sewing: Bottoms

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent for written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test

 and 3

English Language Requirement – Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL score 46

All students must also be competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: a.Basic Draping OR b. Basic Drafting and Sewing OR c. Drafting and Sewing: Tops OR Drafting and Sewing: Bottoms

Graduation

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
