Learning Outcomes
  • Measure and document body measurements.
  • Draft patterns of client body measurements as in bespoke tailoring.
  • Cut panels based on given fabrics and patterns.
  • Sew unit pattern components with refined finishes.
  • Evaluate sewn products for quality and fit against body measurements.
Certificate Issuance
Upon completing the course, the student will be awarded a TaF.tc Certificate in Bespoke Series: Men's Classic Pants.

Items Required For Class

Before your class begins, we'd like you to make sure that you have the following items so that the class can proceed smoothly.

The following items are compulsory for students to bring:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Fabric/Lining requirements are based on standard medium sizing. Please purchase additional yardage for larger sizes.
  • Fabric for Men's Dress Pants - Cotton Drill, Gaberdine, Twill, Linen / Cotton Blend ( 2.5 metres for 45"/114cm width ).
    • We advise you to get fabrics that are not too soft and slippery.
    • Additionally, solid color fabric is highly recommended. Clearly mark which is the face and back of the fabric.
    • If you prefer to get prints, please get prints that are non-directional and can be cut in either direction. For example, if you get a dinosaur print, you must make sure the dinosaurs are looking in all different directions and not just one.
  • 2.0 metres (Acetate, Polyester, Cupra) and 1 metre of cotton lawn.
  • 1 spool of matching colour thread (100m to 250m, 100% polyester) and 1 spool of Basting Thread (optional)- For Men's Dress Pants.
  • 1 Button ( Diameter 10mm ) and 1 set of metal Hooks & Bars - For Men's Dress Pants.
  • 1.5 metres woven Stiff fusible interlining/interfacing - For Men's Dress Pants.
  • 1 packet of 12 mm wide ( single fold ) BIAS TAPE (cotton/satin, non-stretch) - For Men's Dress Pants.
  • 1 normal coil zipper 15cm to 20cm (measure from top stopper to bottom stopper) ( YKK Only ) - For Men's Dress Pants.

Students are required to bring their Stationery too. The list of stationery has been stated below.

  1. Pen
  2. Correction tape/fluid
  3. 2B Pencil (and sharpener or extra lead depending on the type of pencil used)
  4. Eraser/Rubber
  5. 1-inch paper masking tape
  6. Glue stick
  7. Notebook
  8. Calculator

All students who take TaF.tc's Sewing Courses are required to bring their own Sewing Toolkit and Drafting Paper for class.

FAQs

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.
