Quality will greatly affect the cost and target market of your product and its potential customers. In this class you will break down the components of selected types of bags and analyse its construction methods, patterns and accessories to better understand how to differentiate quality. This will enable you to design and produce with an intended target consumer in mind. Funding Period: 1st March 2021 to end Feb 2024

  • Identify bag components and hardware.
  • Identify the processes in bag production from design to finish product for bags and small leather goods.
  • Analyse bags to determine their construction and assembly process.
  • Evaluate the quality of a bag construction against established industry norms.
  • Recommend alternative constructions to improve quality, and reduce cost and lead time.
  • Identify embellishments and finishing techniques.

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

GCE 'O' Level with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics OR WSQ Advanced Certificate OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

 and 3

ALL Students are required to have basic digital literacy, knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL 600

 and 3

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE 'O' Level with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics

 and 4

ALL Students are required to have basic digital literacy, knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module. Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.
