Learning Outcomes
  • Draft pattern blocks for a soft briefcase with given specifications and measurements.
  • Understand how to create a variety of patterns for the briefcase via pattern manipulation methods.
  • Label and mark individual pattern pieces with symbols based on individual practices.
  • Cut shell and/or lining based on the bag’s pattern.
  • Assemble and finish the bag based on industry standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend rectifications of the briefcase against given design specifications and measurements.
Certificate Issuance
Upon completing the course, the student will be awarded a TaF.tc Certificate in Develop Patterns and Sew Briefcase and Variation.

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

Course fee funding eligibility : SCs and PRs (Self-sponsored individuals must be at least 21 years old)

 and 3

GCE 'O' Level with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics OR WSQ Advanced Certificate OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

 and 4

ALL Students are required to have basic digital literacy, knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

 and 5

Competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: a) Develop Patterns and Sew Small Leathergoods and Variations OR Develop Patterns and Sew Tote Bags and Variation

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent for written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL 46

 and 3

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE 'O' Level with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.
