Overview

While hand sketching can be a conceptual ideation process, digital sketching is all about finalizing your designs. You will learn to convert a hand drawing into a complete technical drawing with a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software where you will be able to finalize the lines, add stitches and components with greater accuracy, make modifications to design, add texture and material details. This will produce a complete 2-Dimensional rendering that you will able to send to your factory for production. Funding Period: 1st March 2021 to end Feb 2024

Objectives
  • Identify the tools, menu and functions of CAD design software to draw bags and small leather goods
  • Create bag designs by modifying templates in CAD design software to accordance to given design requirements
  • Ascertain different modes of output, graphic files and formats for CAD design software for presentation
  • Interface between different CAD software to optimize illustrations
  • Evaluate the CAD bag designs illustrations and make appropriate rectifications

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

GCE 'O' Level with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics OR WSQ Advanced Certificate OR WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above

 and 3

ALL Students are required to have basic digital literacy, knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL 75

 and 3

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE 'O' Level with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics

 and 4

ALL Students are required to have basic digital literacy, knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office

Graduation

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module. Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required

Upon registering for the course, you will be required to download the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for this course. Your laptop should meet the following minimum specifications:

FAQs

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
