Developing a shoe collection is not a mere walk in the park, various skills and considerations has to be put in place throughout the development. You will be shown various skills and how to interpret the latest trends and gain inspiration before conceptualizing your collection. From the creation of mood boards to the final technical package, this course is ideal for those who want to experience and create a full footwear design collection. Objectives
  • Identify different stages required in the footwear trend process and market research.
  • Analyse consumer needs, directional trends, and the target market’s lifestyle and mindset changes.
  • Develop footwear collection based on forecasted trends/runway and/or researched target market.
  • Create design boards and footwear sketches based on forecasted trends and/or on the researched target market.
  • Develop a footwear technical package.
  • Evaluate the footwear collection and technical package based on forecasted trends and/or researched target market.
  • Verify that changes are made prior to presentation to customers.

Admissions

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

1

Aged 16 years and above

 and 2

Possess at least 3 GCE 'O' Level credits with a minimum of C6 including English and Mathematics OR ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above OR WSQ Advanced Certificate in Fashion Technology OR TaF.tc's Advanced Certificate

 and 3

All Students are required to have basic computing skills - i.e. able to turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag and drop files, use online search engines for research; and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.

 and 4

Students must be able to sketch footwear design OR create digital footwear images using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

 and 5

Competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: Footwear Brand and Buying Strategy

 and 6

Competent or possess equivalent skills and knowledge for the following competencies: a. Footwear Design Sketching OR b. Digital Footwear Design

Graduation

To graduate, you must fulfil the following requirements

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

 and 2

Be found competent for written, practical and oral assessments

International Students

To enrol, you must fulfil the following requirements

Aged 16 years and above

High School Diploma equivalent to GCE 'O' Levels with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics

 and 3

IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL score 75

 and 4

We do not offer any make-up or replacement classes.

Yes! You can use any SkillsFuture Credits you have to pay for course fees.

We highly discourage you from missing any classes since the entire program is designed to be hands-on intensive. There is also a minimum attendance requirement of 75% of training hours for Singaporean and PRs, and 90% of training hours for international students. If you do not meet the 75% attendance requirement, you will not be eligible to enjoy subsidies nor to sit for the assessment. Make sure you block off your time during your training with us or find an intake option that will ensure you do not miss any classes. You will only wish that you had more time in the class!
