(SCTP) Alteration Artisan

AlterAround is a brand-new alteration service proudly developed by TaF.tc! The SCTP Alteration Artisan Programme equips participants with practical, job-ready skills in garment alteration, preparing them for employment or self-employment. After completing the training, graduates can join AlterAround, a unique business model that connects trained alteration professionals with customers through a user-friendly web application. This platform allows graduates to offer professional alteration services from the comfort of their homes while serving clients across Singapore.

To further support new alteration specialists, TaF.tc ensures graduates have the tools and equipment they need to succeed. With the SCTP Alteration Artisan Programme and AlterAround, participants gain the skills, resources, and confidence to thrive in the garment alteration industry.

  • The Alteration Artisan Final Assessment is a practical evaluation of the skills acquired throughout the sewing, drafting, and alteration modules. Trainees will demonstrate their expertise in garment fit evaluation, pattern drafting, and alteration techniques by completing a series of tasks that simulate real-world challenges. This assessment ensures participants are fully equipped to apply their knowledge and deliver high-quality alterations, creating well-fitted garments that meet industry standards.

  • Enhance your professional journey with this course, focusing on self-awareness, CV building, interview prep, and LinkedIn optimization. Participants also explore the Mentorship Support Grant (MSG) for business growth and skill development.

Admission Requirements
Singaporean or Singapore PR
  • Aged 16 years and above

  • Possess at least 3 GCE ‘N’ Level credits including English and Mathematics OR

  • ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) level 4 and above OR

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Fashion Technology or TaF.tc's Advanced Certificate

International Students
  • Aged 16 years and above

  • High School Diploma equivalent to GCE 'N' Levels with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English and Mathematics OR Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basis AND

  • Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test AND 

  • English requirement: GCE "N" LEVEL CREDITS OR IELTS SCORE 4.5 OR TOEFL iBT score 32

  • Students are required to have basic computing skills i.e. turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag and drop files, use online search engine for research; and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.

Graduation Requirements
Singaporean or Singapore PR
  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module

  • Be found competent during written, practical and oral assessments

International Students
  • 75% attendance rate of total training hours per module. Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.
